Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 25, 2026
1. Introduction
VSCodeMobile ("we", "us", or "our") operates vscodemobile.com and the VSCodeMobile VS Code extension (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read it carefully.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in via Google OAuth we receive your Google account email, display name, and profile picture. We store only what is necessary to identify your account.
Usage Data
We log standard server access data (IP address, browser user-agent, pages visited, timestamps) for security and performance monitoring. These logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Workspace Data
All communication between the VS Code extension and the web app is relayed in real time through our WebSocket server. We do not store the content of your terminal sessions, file contents, or chat messages on our servers.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use a session cookie to keep you authenticated. No third-party advertising cookies are set. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and provide access to the Service
- To manage your subscription via Stripe
- To send transactional emails (e.g. payment receipts) — no marketing emails without consent
- To diagnose errors and improve performance
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Google Cloud — our hosting infrastructure. Data is stored in the EU/US region.
- Google OAuth — solely to authenticate your identity during sign-in.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@vscodemobile.com. Server access logs are purged after 30 days.
6. Security
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Extension-to-server connections use secure WebSockets (WSS). While we employ industry-standard security practices, no system is completely immune to breaches.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us immediately.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@vscodemobile.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
